Results and discussion

Main ADME resultsopen allclose all
Type:
absorption
Results:
The relatively small molecular weight (343 Daltons) and the high water solubility (500 g/L) are particularly favorable for absorption from the gut. In addition, the low log Pow value (0.26 to 0.18) is favorable for absorption by passive diffusion.
Type:
distribution
Results:
The small molecular weight and high water solubility are favorable for distribution throughout the body.
Type:
metabolism
Results:
The results of repeated dose studies indicate that the substance either has limited absorption/ penetration into the body or it was rapidly removed (metabolized or excreted) from the body.
Type:
excretion
Results:
Small molecular weight, high water solubility and low log Pow are favorable for excretion. This material has a low bioaccumulation potential.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): other:
Results of the toxicokinetic evaluation shows that substance N,N,N',N',N'',N''-hexamethyl-1,3,5-triazin-1,3,5(2H,4H,6H)-tripropanamine is practically non-toxic, does not appear to penetrate into the body of experimental animals and its toxic effects are manifested only on local level.
Executive summary:

From information from acute toxicity studies it seems that the substance N,N,N',N',N'',N''-hexamethyl-1,3,5-triazin-1,3,5(2H,4H,6H)-tripropanamine either had limited absorption/ penetration into the body or it was rapidly removed (metabolized or excreted) from the body. Toxic effects were manifested only on local level (irritation of skin and mucous membranes) Also the results of sensitisation studies (no sensitisation, potential skin irritation) support this conclusion. Result of acute oral toxicity testing is that the substance is practically non-toxic. After repeated oral exposition subtle changes in some biochemical and haematological parameters were detected but those were not attributable to the test substance effect. Only pathological changes in forestomach could be considered as attributable to the test substance action. These findings lead to the conclusion that also in this case the substance did not enter the animal body and its effect is manifested only locally in the site of first contact with organism, in forestomach. With respect to reproduction toxicity parameters it is not possible to confirm penetration through the placental barrier. The test substance did not affect the reproduction of animals and development of pups. No studies or specific information about metabolism, distribution and excretion of the test substance were found.
