Description of key information

The weighted-average Koc and log Koc values of amides, C16-18(even-numbered) and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) using the MCI (Molecular Connectivity Index) approach of the KOCWIN v2.00 program (EPIWEB v 4.0) was estimated to be 1,354 L/kg and (log Koc = 3.1) respectively.

Additional information

Based on the estimated log Kow for individual components, the calculated weighted-average Koc of amides, C16-18 (even-numbered) and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) is estimated to be 1,354 L/kg (log Koc = 3.1) according to the KOCWIN v2.00 program (EPIWEB v 4.1; U. S. EPA (2012)).

This Koc value indicates a high potential for adsorption to organic matter. However, since the substance is readily biodegradable and the mammalian toxicokinetics data shows the substance to have a low bioaccumulation potential as well as a low BCF value, it can be assumed that amides, C16-18(even-numbered) and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) is not persistent or bioaccumulative in the soil or in other environmental compartments.
