Description of key information

The substance is not expected to be bioaccumulative and therefore toxicity to birds is not expected to be of concern.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Amides, C16-18 (even-numbered) and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl)is readily biodegradable in water and rapidly biodegraded in the terrestrial environment. Therefore, it can reasonably be assumed that there is no significant long-term exposure of the substance to birds. Moreover, the bioaccumulation potential is also assessed to be of no significant concern. Therefore secondary poisoning is not considered relevant and thus no PNEC oral for secondary poisoning was derived and no risk assessment for secondary poisoning was performed.
