Conclusion on classification

The environmental classification was as follows justified: The criteria for classification for hazards to the aquatic environment according to regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 are fulfilled.

 

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008:

The available experimental test data are reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. The test substance is not readily biodegradable under the test conditions. The EC50 values based on short-term toxicity data with fish and Daphnia and toxicity data with algae were in a similar range between 1.7 and 8.3 mg/L. The most sensitive endpoint was the short-term toxicity to fish with a 96h-LC50 of 1.73 mg/L.

The EC10 values based on long-term toxicity data with invertebrates and toxicity data with algae were 0.196 - 3.93 mg/L. The most sensitive endpoint was the long-term toxicity to Daphnia with an EC10 of 0.196 mg/L after 21 days.

Based on these results, the substance is classified as chronic category 2 according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 (H411: Toxic to aquatic life with long‐lasting effects).
