No studies investigating the adsorption/desorption behaviour of dodecanoic acid, hexyl ester (CAS No. 34316-64-8) are available. Using KOCWIN Program (v2.00), log Koc values of 5.14 and 4.42 were calculated, based on log Kow and on molecular conductivity index (MCI), respectively. Based on the calculated values, the substance has potential to adsorb.
Additionally, an experimental study conducted with the structurally similar category member Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18 unsatd. branched and linear, butyl esters (CAS No. 163961-32-8), according to EU Method C.19, resulted in a log Koc of 5.63 (White, 2003).
