Description of key information

No effect up to the limit of the water solubility of the amides, C16-C18 (even numbered) was observed. Thus, the EC50 exceeds the water solubility of the test substance (EC50 > 0.17 mg/L) . The test substance is not harmful to algae.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One GLP guideline study according to OECD 201 is available for amides, C16-C18 (even numbered). In the 72 hour algae study with Desmodesmus subspicatus no effects on growth rate were observed to an initial measured test concentration of 0.17 mg/L, the highest attainable concentration. This study showed that there were no toxic effects at saturation. The test substance is not harmful to algae.
