Ecotoxicological information

Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods

Administrative data

Endpoint:
toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods: long-term
Type of information:
experimental study planned
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with the ECHA guidance on terrestrial ecotoxicology (R7.c, version 3.0, June 2017), soil persistence should be assumed in the absence of specific soil degradation data, unless the substance is readily biodegradable. As the substance is not readily biodegradable, soil persistence is assumed for the purpose of assigning a soil hazard category. There are no indications that the substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms (all EC/LC50 values are > 1 mg/l for algae, daphnia and fish), therefore it should be considered as "soil hazard category 3". Consequently, a chemical safety assessment based on EPM is conducted and a confirmatory long-term study is proposed. In addition, as there is no clear indication of selective toxicity relative to different trophic levels, an invertebrate study is preferred.
