Description of key information
Silicic acid, aluminium magnesium sodium salt is an inert substance which is not subject to chemical or physical decomposition. Hence it shows a high storage stability and is not reactive towards package materials like metal, plastic or paper.
Additional information
The high storage resp. chemical stability is also confirmed by the fact the test item is used for 20 years as additive for papers by the submitter. Expected from a scientific point and shown by the submitter's experience the substance does not show any reactivitiy towards container materials like metal or plastic.
Substance is packaged by the submitter in bags which are made of multi-layered paper or in bigpacks.
Storage or shelf life is only limited to the adsorption of water (humidity from air), the chemical properties of the substance itself remain unchanged.
1.Substance itself has unlimited shelf-life but to avoid any possible influence from humidity it is recommended to use the substance within 24months from the date of production in the typical industrial applications listed in the PI Sheet*. This is the result of internal storage tests to provide the guaranteed product specifications.
2. Bags are made of multi-layered paper (3 layers of paper).Paper bags are glued (wet strength) and dust-proof.
3. Closure is a paper outlet, which is folded inside the bag after filling.
* More details please see attachment ' PI Sheet detailed packaging information' included in IUCLID under chapter 13 Assessment reports
