Results and discussion

Metabolite characterisation studies

Metabolites identified:
yes
Details on metabolites:
Methacrylic acid is formed when cyclohexyl methacrylate is incubated in rat liver 9 mix or rat plasma.

Any other information on results incl. tables

Incubation in rat liver S9 mix

CHMA completely decreased within the first 10 min in the organic phase. This result correlated with the development of methacrylic acid in the aqueous phase within the same time frame.

Incubation in rat plasma

After 30 minutes a 80 % reduction of CHMA is observed. At the same time the methacrylic acid increased linearly by 20 %.
