Description of key information

The preliminary test (Tier 1) and main study (Tier 2) was performed for the determination of the rate of hydrolysis of bis(2-chloroethoxy) methane at pH values normally found in the environment (pH 4-9).

In the main study at each pH value it was observed that the test substance had a degree of hydrolysis of < 10% after incubation at 50°C for 5 days or longer. Based on this it was concluded that at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 the half-life time of the test substance at 25°C is

> 1 year.

According to the guideline, further performance of the main study (Tier 2) was not required
