Additional information

In the Key study, the water solubility was determined titrimetrically to be 2.5688 mole/kg water at 298.1 K from manganese acetate tetrahydrate (Apelblat 2001). This corresponds to 292.8 g/L Mn(C2H3O2)2 (anhydrous form) at 20°C, which can be easily and with scientifical justification calculated, because during the experiment only the acetate anions were determined and no mass effects have to be taken into consideration. This value leads to the conclusion that manganese acetate is very soluble in water, i.e. more than 10000 mg/L of the compound can be solved. This conclusion is supported by two literature data, wherein the water solubility was determined to be 268 g/L (Speight, 2004, determined from the tetrahydrate) and 233 g/L (Merck, 2011 -2013), respectively. Although these values are not absolutely equal, they are in the same range and state clearly, that the substance can be considered as very soluble.
