Additional information
Flammability (solids)
The flammability (solids) of the test material was determined in a study which was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.10.
During the preliminary test, the flame of a gas burner could not ignite the test material pile. In contact with the flame, the test material glowed and turned black and orange. After removal of the ignition source, glowing stopped after 8 seconds and no propagation of combustion was observed.
Flammability (Contact with water)
The flammability (contact with water) of the test material was investigated in a study which was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.12.
No spontaneous ignition took place in any step of the test procedure and there was no evolution of (flammable) gas.
Therefore, under the conditions of the study the test material was not highly flammable in contact with water.
Therefore, under the conditions of the study, the test material was concluded to be 'not highly flammable'.
Flammability (Pyrophoric properties)
The pyrophoric properties of the test material were investigated in a study which was conducted under GLP conditions and in accordance with the standardised guideline EU Method A.13.
Spontaneous ignition did not occur in any of the six tests when the test material was dropped from a height of 1 meter, or within five minutes of settling.
Therefore, under the conditions of the study the test material was not considered to be pyrophoric.
Justification for classification or non-classification
The substance does not meet the requirements for classification, as a flammable solid, under European Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
