Additional information

In accordance with REACH Annex IX, 9.4, Column 2, direct or indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely and the submission substance is readily biodegradable. Furthermore, the substance is not classified according to 67/548/EEC and regulation (EU) no. 286/2011. The substance does not have a potential to bioaccumulate nor is it considered as a PBT/vPvB substance. The EPM method may be applied to assess the hazard for soil organisms.

There are results available from two published studies with oil rape, wheat and barley (Wheeler & Lord, 1983). Tributylamine (HCl salt) was applied on single leafs of young plants. The substance had little effect on the development of wheat and barley, but reduced the number of leaves by approximately 50 %. The tested doses are stated as µmol/leaf (0.2 to 5 µmol/leaf), therefore it is not possible to derive an effect concentration according to established guidelines (e.g OECD 227).
