Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not readily biodegradable under ready biodegradation tests.

10 days windows criteria failed.

Ultimate biodegradation demonstrated.

Additional information

Two ready biodegradation tests under OECD 301F and 301D exist and conclude to “not readily biodegradable”.

Under the key Manometric Respirometry study (OECD 301F), the pass level of > 60% ThOD of biodegradation is reached within 28 days. The ready biodegradation levels of the substance were 60.3% at day 28 and 64.9% at day 43.

Moreover, under the conditions of the supporting study of the closed bottle test (OECD 301D), 15% after 28 days were reached. There are indications that the substance is ultimately biodegradable (60% after 98 days).

Considering that 60% of ultimate biodegradation was reached within the 28-day period of the OECD 301F test, the substance is readily biodegradable but failing the 10 days windows criteria. Therefore it is possible to conclude that the substance is not persistent under relevant environmental conditions.
