Description of key information

With high probability DMEE is not acutely harmful to freshwater invertebrates.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance to the freshwater invertebrate, Daphnia magna, has been investigated in GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 202 (Daphnia sp. Acute Immobilisation Test). A 48-hour EC50 value of greater than 100 mg/L was reported. The NOEC at 48 hours was 32 mg/L (nominal, Harlan, 2012, rep. no.: 41202880). The test concentrations were analytically verified. Correspondingly, the LOEC was considered to be 56 mg/L.

Based on the available experimental data, it was concluded that the substance is with high probability not acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
