Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted as the substance is hydrolytically unstable (half-life is 3.9 h). The hydrolysis product was identified as 4-hydroxydiphenylamine (CAS Nr. 122-37-2). QSAR estimations give results of the logKoc in the range of 2.39 to 3.64. The lower value was taken as worst case as it results in higher PECs for the soil and sediment compartment calculated with EPM.

Additional information

N-isopropyl-N'-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine has an adsorption coefficient in the range of LogKoc = 2.39 to 3.64, however is the substance hydrolytically unstable (half-life 3.9 h). 4-Hydroxydiphenylamine (CAS 122-37-2) is the main hydrolysis product. The estimated LogKoc values for 4-hydroxydiphenylamine, using different accepted calculation methods are in the range of 2.41 to 3.03 (Allmendinger 2015)
