Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
In case of inhalation : remove the person from the polluted area. Keep the injured person in security lateral position in a warm place. Give oxygen and /or artificial respiration if necessary. Get medical attention immediately.
In case of skin contact : remove immediately all contaminated clothing. Take a shower and rinse the whole body with plenty of water. Alert a doctor.
In case of eyes contact : wash eyes immediately with running water for at least 15 minutes while eyelids open. Ask immediately an ophthalmologist's advice.
In case of ingestion : get medical attention immediately. Do not induce vomiting.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media : carbon dioxide, chemical powder, sprayed water, foam.
Specific fire hazards : explosive hazards of vapour in air - limits of explosivity : 2,5% -98% (v/v). Dangerous decomposition products : carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides.
Protective equipment for fire-fighters : wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective chothing.
Extinguishing waters should be collected to avoid contamination of the environment.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : evacuate people from the hazardous area. Remove any ignition source. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Use anti-explosion equipment. Ventilate enclosed volume.
Vapours form explosive air-vapour mixture.
Environmental protection : avoid release to the environment. Do not empty into drains.
Methods for cleaning up : in case of accidental spillage with non inflammation, flood immediately with plenty of water. Destroy the product by incineration in an authorized facility in accordance with regulation.
Handling and storage
Handling : avoid contact with skin and eyes. Exhaustive ventilation at vapours emission source. Keep away from sources of ignition. Avoid formation and accumulation of static electric charges during transfer operations.
Storage : avoid any igntion source. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Store in a cool and well-ventilated area. Keep under inert gas. Store away from incompatible substances such as strong oxidizers, strong acids, metal oxides...

Exposure controls / personal protection
Occupational Exposure Limit : 0.1 ppm (8 hours).
Personal protective equipment : wear respiratory protective equipment for organic vapours. Supplied air respirator in case of important or prolonged exposure. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety googles and face-shield.
Hygiene measures : do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash one's hands regularly. Clean protective equipment and working clothes.
Stability and reactivity
Stability : stable under normal temperatures and pressures.
Conditions to avoid : avoid any ignition source.
Materials to avoid : strong oxidising agents, strong acids, metal oxides.
Disposal considerations
Do not release into sewers or in natural environment.
Wastes have to be destroyed in an authorized facility, in compliance with wastes regulations.
