Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately
In any case show the physician the Safety Data Sheet
After contact with skin:
In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with plenty of water
After contact with eyes:
In case of contact with eyes rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and seek medical advice
After ingestion:
Summon a doctor immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media
water spray jet
carbon dioxide
dry powder
alcohol-resistant foam
Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours
In the event of fire the following can be released:
Sulphur oxides
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Combustion gases of organic materials must in principle be graded as inhalation poisons.
Special protective equipment for firefighting
Use self-contained breathing apparatus
Accidental release measures
Environmental precautions
Do not discharge into the drains/surface waters/groundwater.
Methods for cleaning up/taking up
Take up with absorbent material (eg sand, kieselguhr, universal binder)
Dispose of as prescribed

Exposure controls / personal protection
Occupational exposure controls:
General protective measures: Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Hygiene measures: Do not eat or drink during work time.
Hand protection : For long-term exposure: Butyl rubber gloves. Minimum thickness / gloves 0,7 mm.
For short-term exposure (splash protection): Nitrile rubber gloves. Minimum thickness / gloves 0,4 mm.
These types of protective gloves are offered by various manufacturers. Please note the manufacturers´ detailed statements, especially about the minimum thickness and the minimum breakthrough time. Consider also the particular working conditions under which the gloves are being used.
Eye protection : safety glasses
Body protection : protective clothing
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition : 280 °C
Hazardous reactions: Reactions with strong oxidising agents. Reactions with strong acids.
Disposal considerations
Product: In accordance with regulations for special waste, must be taken to an authorised special waste incineration plant.
Uncleaned packaging: Regulations concerning reuse or disposal of used packaging materials must be observed.
