Vanadium, oxalate complexesc ontains residual moisture of 0.9 wt.-% as determined by drying the test item under reduced pressure (approximately 100 mbar) at a temperature of 50 °C.

An open flame was not observed in any of the tests with Vanadium, oxalate complexes and cellulose. In the 4:1 mixture test, vanadium, oxalate complexes charred while power was applied to the ignition wire; thereafter no further charring was observed. In the 1:1 mixture test, vanadium, oxalate complexes charred while power was applied to the ignition wire and after the power was switched off. At the end of the test, vanadium, oxalate complexes was completely charred.

Vanadium, oxalate complexes does not ignite and burn in 4:1 and 1:1 mixtures with cellulose.

Classification

UN-Transport regulations

Vanadium, oxalate complexes does not need to be classified as oxidizing solid in Division 5.1 according to the UN-Transport Regulations.

GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP-Guideline)

Vanadium, oxalate complexes does not need to be classified as oxidizing solid according to GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.14.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Vanadium, oxalate complexes does not need to be classified as oxidizing solid in Division 5.1 according to the UN-Transport regulation,GHS and EC 1271/2008 (CLP-Guideline) Annex 1: 2.14.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

Vanadium, oxalate complexes does not have oxidizing properties based on an UN-Transport Regulation Test O.1.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Vanadium, oxalate complexes does not have oxidizing properties and does not require classification as oxidizing solid according to Division 5.1 of the UN-Transport Guideline and EC 1271/2008 (CLP-Regulation) Annex 1: 2.14.
