Acute studies for soil organisms including earthworm, Collembola and two species of terrestrial plants are available for the test substance. These studies consistently confirm the low acute toxicity of the substance to terrestrial organisms at the maximum achievable concentration in the respective test media. Of the organisms tested, the most sensitive appeared to be Collembola where adult lethality and reproductive endpoints were reported at 89 mg/kg dry wt (LC50 and IC50, respectively) and an IC25 of 59 mg/kg dry wt soil for reproduction. The acute adult lethality endpoint (LC50) value is used as the basis of the PNECsoil derivation.
