For Daphnia magna a three generation 64-days NOEC-value of 16.9 μg/l is reported. It has to be noted that the long exposure time of 64 days is not according to the recommended exposure time of the OECD guidelines (14 or 28 days).

In addition a long-term NOEC value is available for the mollusc Dreissena polymorpha. However the NOEC (mortality) of 1800 μg/l is derived in a 14 days experiment, which may be considered relatively short for a long-term test with this species (average life time of D. polymorpha is about two years).

Marine invertebrates

Long-term toxicity data for marine invertebrates are not available.

2. Agreement with further international Reports and Studies published after finalisation of the EU Risk Assessment Report 2001  

WHO (2002): In a 64-day exposure of the zooplankton Daphnia magna, 100% mortality occurred in the F2 generation at 42.7 μg/litre. The NOEC for survival was estimated to be 16.9 μg/litre. In another study, a subchronic 14-day NOEC of 1800 μg/litre was derived for the mollusc Dreissena polymorpha.
