Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General information:

Remove affected person from danger area, lay him down. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and clean affected parts of the body thoroughly. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

After inhalation:

Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm. If there is a breathing problem give oxygen. Take medical treatment.

After contact with skin:

In the event of contact with the skin wash immediately with polyethylene glycol, then with plenty of water. If polyethylene glycol is not available, rinse of with plenty of water. In case of contact with skin, clean with soap and water. Call in a physician immediately and show him the Safety Data Sheet.

After contact with eyes:

Rinse the affected eye with plenty of water, at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected. In case of irritation consult an occulist

After ingestion:

Allow the patient to vomit of his own accord only if fully conscious. Let plenty of water be drunk in small gulps. Summon a doctor immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water spray jet, dry powder, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours:

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting:

Use self-contained breathing apparatus

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid any contact with the product. Wear personal protective equipment. Unprotected persons must be kept away.

Environmental precautions:

Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil

Methods for cleaning up/taking up:

Take up with absorbent material (eg sand, kieselguhr, universal binder). When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal".

Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

When filling, transferring, or emptying of containers, adequate suctioning close to work place necessary. Provide good ventilation of working area (local exhaust ventilation if necessary). Keep containers tightly closed

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection. Keep away from sources of ignition.

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels:

Keep only in the original container. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained in accordance with Art. 18.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

Additional advice on system design:

When practicable, the material should be handled in enclosed or contained processes, a properly operating laboratory hood or with other effective local exhaust ventilation. Where a closed system is not used, good enclosure and local exhaust ventilation should be provided.

General protective measures:

Do not inhale vapours. Avoid all contact by use of appropriate technical and personal measures ( for example, during sampling). Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use

Hygiene measures:

Wash hands before breaks and after work. Use barrier skin cream. Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately and clean thoroughly before using again.

Respiratory protection : Short term: filter apparatus, Filter A. In case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure use respiratory protection equipment.

Hand protection : Butyl rubber gloves.

Minimum breakthrough time (glove): not determined. Minimum thickness (glove): not determined. Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other workplace requirements. For short-term exposure (splash protection): Nitrile rubber gloves.

Eye protection : safety glasses/face shield

Body protection : working clothes

Stability and reactivity

Hazardous reactions: When handled and stored appropriately no dangerous reactions are known

Hazardous decomposition products: When handled and stored appropriately, no dangerous decomposition products are known

Disposal considerations

Product: Product should be be taken to a suitable and authorized waste disposal site in accordance with relevant regulations and if necessary after consultation with the waste disposal operator and/or the competent Authorities

Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
