The reaction mass containing mainly 2 -chloropropene was considered to be not readily biodegradable (aerobic closed bottle test). In addition, the 48h-EC50 for Daphnia was established to be 7.7 mg/l while the 48h-ErC50 for Algae was demonstrated to be 12 mg/l. for all these reasons, we proposed to classify the reaction mass as

-R51/53 (toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment) according to DSD legislation

-Aquatic chronic Category 2 /H411 (toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to CLP legislation.
