Description of key information

Although no data are available to the registrant for phenylglycidyl ether for skin irritation, in accordance with the harmonised scheme for classification and labelling in Regulation EC 1272/2008, phenylglycidyl ether (index number 603 -067 -00 -X) is a category 2 skin irritant and may cause respiratory irritation. 
A single exposure inhalation study that was the preliminary test for the repeated dose inhalation study (Section 7.5.3) indicates that this substance may cause respiratory sensitisation, and in accordance with the harmonised scheme for classification and labelling in Regulation EC 1272/2008, phenylglycidyl ether (index number 603 -067 -00 -X) is a specific target organ toxicity (single exposure) category 3 (H335: May cause respiratory irritation).
