Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Phototransformation in air

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the substance will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.

Hydrolysis

According to structural properties, hydrolysis is not expected. Moreover, the substance is readily biodegradable.

Biodegradation

Dibutylamine is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

Bioaccumulation

Significant accumulation in organism is not to be expected.

Adsorption/desorption

The substance might adsorb to the solid soil phase under environmentally relevant conditions. However, the substance is readily biodegradable.

Henry´s Law constant

From the water surface, the substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere under environmentally relevant conditions.

Distribution modelling

The uncharged substance preferably distributes into the compartments air (72.6%) and water (26.9%). However, the data refer to the uncharged molecule (calculated pKa value: 11). The substance is supposed to be charged under environmentally relevant conditions. Therefore the distribution into water may be underestimated.
