Name:
Ethylamine - SIP
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:

Reference substance:
Ethylamine - SIP
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Based on the available study conducted according to OECD Guideline 301C, ethylamine (CAS 75-04-7) is assessed to be readily biodegradable (see IUCLID Ch. 5.2.1). Therefore, the substance does not fullfil the P/vP criteria. The substance is not B/vB based on a measured log Kow of -0.13 (Kurihara N. et.al., Pest. Biochem. And Physiol. 2,1973). In addition, several QSAR calculations (calculated BCF values range between 0.96 L/kg and 10 L/kg, see IUCLID Ch. 5.3.1) indicate no significant potential for bioaccumulation. The substance is not T since the lowest available chronic value is >> 0.01 mg/L (Algae: 7-d NOEC = 3.2 mg (A.I.)/L, measured, Arkema, rep. no.:94-7-5335, 1994) and the substance holds no relevant classification.

In conclusion, the substance is not to be considered as a PBT/vPvB substance.
