Additional information

2-Ethylhexane-1,3-diol (EHD) is a colorless, odourless, slightly viscous and slightly oily liquid. It has a freezing point of less than -40oC, a boiling point of 129oC and an auto-ignition temperature of 320oC. Its density is slightly lower than that of water. It is soluble in water and in organic solvents such as ethanol and isopropanol. The log Kow of EHD is 3.63. It has a low vapour pressure (< 1.33 Pa at 20oC). It is not considered a hazardous substance due to physicochemical properties.
