Description of key information

Toxicity to microorganisms: Key studies: Read-across from experimental data on the category analogue Sodium Acetate. The estimated 16h-EC50 for Pseudomonas putida with the substance Magnesium acetate is calculated to be 6.25 g/L, and EC10 is estimated to 3.04 g/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
6.25 g/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
3.04 g/L

Additional information

Key studies: Read-across from experimental results obtained with the category analogue Sodium acetate.

A test to study the toxicity to the bacteria Pseudomonas putida was performed according to the national standard DIN 38412 part 8. The 16 h- EC50 for Pseudomonas putida was 7.2 g/L, and the EC10 was 3.5 g/L.

Based on the experimental results obtained with the analogue Sodium acetate and the molecular weights, the read-across approach was applied and the 16h-EC50 for Pseudomonas putida with the substance Magnesium acetate is calculated to be 6.25 g/L, and EC10 is estimated to 3.04 g/L.
