Description of key information

The calculated dissociation constant of phenyl ethyl alcohol is 15.45.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

pKa at 20°C:
15.45

Additional information

In accordance with REACH Chapter R.7A, this endpoint can be waived for ionisable substances with pKa greater than 10, as they will not tend to dissociate in water under normal environmental conditions. Phenyl ethyl alcohol has a calculated dissociation constant of 15.45 and therefore is not expected to dissociate in the environment. This was calculated using SPARC online calculator, which is considered to be a reliable source and suitable for use for this endpoint.
