- Stability under test conditions: No data
- Storage condition of test material: No data
Temp.:
20 °C
Vapour pressure:
8.2 Pa
Transition / decomposition:
no

Headspace vapour concentrations of the test material as found after different equilibration times are exposed below:

Equilibration times (h) Headspace concentration (g.m-3)
3 0.582
5 0.446
7 0.541
Average 0.523

The results were in agremeent within the estimated repeatability of the method as stated in the OECD 104 guideline for the method.

An additional peak was observed on the chromatograms of the test samples at a retention time of 11.557 mins, likely due to the oxidation of the test material under test conditions. Since the test material was present in a large excess on the bottom of the headspace vessel, this small loss due to oxidation was not regarded as critical. The validity of the study was not adversely affected.

Calculation of vapour pressure

The vapour pressure is calculated using the following equation:

p = W ×R × T ÷ ( V × M)

Where:

p = Vapour pressure in Pascal (Pa)
W = Mass of the test substance in the aspirated volume (g)
V = Aspirated volume (i.e. volume of the burette) (m3)
R = Universal gas constant (8.314 J.mol-1.K-1)
T = Test temperature (K)
M = Molecular mass of the test substance (g.mol-1)

Using this calculation gave the result of 8.2 Pa at 20 °C.

Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of the test material was determined to be 8.2 Pa at 20 °C.
