Description of key information

Divanadium trioxide is not explosive.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non explosive

Additional information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, Section 7.11, Column 2, testing for explosive properties is not considered to be required for divanadium trioxide. Divanadium trioxide is considered to be “inert” in the context of explosivity, since it is void of any chemical structures commonly associated with explosive properties, such as metal peroxides, peroxo-acid-anions, azides, and halogen oxides. Furthermore, long-term industrial experience in practical handling of divanadium trioxide shows that it is not explosive.
