Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A GLP-compliant study according to OECD 301D (Closed Bottle Test) is available for Reaction product of p-nonylphenol, formaldehyde and diethanolamine, propoxylated (TOXI-COOP Zrt, 2013). In this study, activated sludge from a waste water treatment plant receiving predominantly domestic waste water is exposed to 3 mg/L of the test substance for 28 days. Under the conditions of the test, the percentage biodegradation of test substance reached a mean of 8.9 % after 28 days (based on COD). A maximum biodegradability value of 12.9 % was observed on day 21. Based on these data, the test item is to be considered as not readily biodegradable.
