Description of key information

Direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment to diphenyl sulphone is unlikely, so testing of toxicity to soil microorganisms is not required (Annex IX point 9.4 column 2).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the standard information requirements in Annex IX point 9.4 column 2, toxicity testing of soil microorganisms is not required if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. During production and downstream use, exposure of the soil compartment to diphenyl sulphone is unlikely, so a toxicity test with soil microorganisms doesn’t need to be conducted.
