The n-octanol solubility of the surfactant part of the substance was analytically determined to be > 783 g/L. The undissolved particles observed at all concentrations in the study most probably therefore derive from sodium chloride. The n-octanol solubility of the substance was visually determined to be < 1.08 g/L.
Executive summary:

The n-octanol solubility of the substance was investigated. Based on experimental information obtained with a comparable substance (amphoacetates C8-C18), it was decided to analytically determine the n-octanol solubility of the surfactant part of the substance, to investigate whether it would be possible to obtain more information about the logKow of the substance, based on the n-octanol solubility of only the surfactant part of the substance.

The n-octanol solubility of the surfactant part of the substance was analytically determined to be > 783 g/L. The undissolved particles observed at all concentrations in the study most probably therefore derive from sodium chloride. The n-octanol solubility of the substance was visually determined to be < 1.08 g/L. It can therefore be concluded that using the estimation method it is not possible to determine the logKow of (only the surfactant part of) the substance.
