First-aid measures

General advice:

Remove contaminated clothing.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists.

On contact with eyes:

Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open,

consult an eye specialist. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.

On ingestion:

Immediately rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water, do not induce vomiting, seek medical

attention.

Note to physician:

Treatment: Symptomatic treatment (decontamination, vital functions

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

dry extinguishing media, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam, water fog

Specific hazards:

Do not breathe gas/vapour.

Special protective equipment:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions:

Do not empty into drains.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

For large amounts: Pick up with suitable absorbent material.

For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material.

Dispose of absorbed material in accordance with regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid inhalation of dusts/mists/vapours. Ensure

thorough ventilation of stores and work areas. Wear suitable gloves and eye/face protection.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should

be kept handy. Risk of self-ignition when a large surface area is produced due to fine dispersion.

Storage

Further information on storage conditions: Containers should be stored tightly sealed in a dry place.

Protect contents from the effects of light. Protect against heat. Keep away from sources of ignition -

no smoking

Personal protective equipment

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)

Suitable materials short-term contact and/or splashes (recommended: At least protective index 2,

corresponding > 30 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374)

butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on own tests, literature data and information of

glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions

(e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in

practice may be much shorter than the determined permeation time.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)

General safety and hygiene measures:

Avoid inhalation of dusts/mists/vapours. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. At the end of

the shift the skin should be cleaned and skin-care agents applied.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to avoid:

Temperature: > 100 °C

Substances to avoid:

oxidizing agent

Hazardous reactions:

No hazardous reactions if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Hazardous decomposition products:

No hazardous decomposition products if stored and handled as prescribed/indicated.

Disposal considerations

Observe national and local legal requirements.
