Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Three acute freshwater fish studies were assessed for this endpoint. One study was conducted with rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) exposed to the pentapotassium salt of DTPA, while the other study was conducted with bluegill sunfish (Lepomis machrochirus) exposed to the pentasodium salt of DTPA. A third study with DTPA-FeHNa confirmed the low toxicity to zebra fish (Danio rerio).

All studies were found to be of good quality and were comparable to or equivalent to guideline studies. The acute tests with the rainbow trout and zebra fish were limit tests that concluded that the 96 hour LC50 for DTPA-K5 and DTPA-FeHNa was >1000 mg/L and > 100 mg/L respectively.

The acute test with the bluegill sunfish concluded that the 96-hour LC50 for pentasodium DTPA was 1115 mg/L, which is equivalent to 1085 mg/L DTPA-FeNa2 following stoichiometric conversion.
