In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex X, Column 2, 9.4 further studies on the effects on terrestrial organisms do not have to be conducted since the chemical safety assessment indicates that there is no need. Available data on aquatic (in particular algae) and terrestrial toxicity suggest that the substance is not harmful to the aquatic and terrestrial environment at relevant concentrations. Additionally, the substance is readily biodegradable and will therefore not persist in soil for an extended period of time. Due to its high adsorption potential DINA is considered to be immobile in soil and uptake by roots via pore-water is not expected. Hence, the risk the substance poses to terrestrial plants is considered to be low and a study is not considered to be necessary. Further, the substance has no agricultural uses. Consequently, exposure of terrestial organisms is not expected.
