The vapour pressure is 5.06E-5 Pa at 25 °C.

Additional information

The key value for vapour pressure is estimated by using a category approach based on the available data two main constituents, C16 Palmitic acid (CAS 57-10-3) and C18 Stearic acid (CAS 57-11-4). C16 Palmitic acid had the higher vapour pressure of these two constituents (see explanation below). An experimental value for Fatty acids, C16-22 is available, but it was determined less precisely (vapour pressure < 1 Pa).

According to the theoretical principle of Raoult’s law, the vapour pressure of a mixture is equal to the mole-fraction-weighted sum of the components' vapour pressures:

The vapour pressure of the mixture should be lower than the vapour pressure of the component which has the highest vapour pressure in its pure form (C16).
