Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance is manufactured and used under strictly controlled conditions as set out in Article 18(4)(a) to (f) of REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH). This is documented for 2-chlorotoluene in the corresponding assessment report in IUCLID section 13. According to Annex XI, section 3.2.b of REACH, exposure based adaptions of testing requirements do therefore apply and are called upon. Testing under this section is therefore not required (data waiving).

Not assignable (RL 4) supporting information is available:
The maximum acceptable toxicant concentration (MATC) in a 30-day embryo-larval toxicity study using fathead minnow (Pimephalis promelas) was determined to be between 1.4 mg/L (NOEC) and 2.9 mg/L (LOEC) [Federal Register (USA) 1982, Vol. 47, No. 231].
