Additional information

A test was performed on the substance under registration according to OECD 2017 with Eisenia foetida and LC50 > 3000 mg/Kg dry weight. The original report is not available.

A second test was performed on the analogous dihydroxyethyl derivative tetrasulphonated sodium salt, CAS 16470-24-9. The diethylamino substituent is less polar, less reactive and makes the molecule slightly less soluble compared to the dihydroxyethylamino derivative, but also less potentially adsorbing to particulate organic matter and soil. The latter can therefore considered as a representative conservative analogous for the soil toxicity because of the higher bioavailability and higher reactivity with organic substrates. The Category Justification Report is attached to section 13.

The LC50 value in Eisenia foetidaaccording to OECD 207 was greater than 5000 mg/kg dry weight for CAS 4193-55-9.

No concern for soil toxicity is then arisen by the presented acute studies on the substance under registration.
