Additional information

The BUA Report 21 refers to the publication fromBuccafusco et al 1981, where a LC50 (96 hrs) of 600 mg/L was determined on sunperch (Lepomis macrochirus) in a static test at a water temperature of 22 °, at a total hardness of 32 - 48 mg/L (as CaCO3) and a pH value between 6.7 and 7.8.

The data bank GESTIS refers to the same study and contains a statement that the 96h-LC50 for bluegill sunfish is 600 mg/L. Following reference was provided:

Buccafusco, R.J., S.J. Ells, and G.A. LeBlanc 1981. Acute Toxicity of Priority Pollutants to Bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus). Bull.Environ.Contam.Toxicol. 26(4):446-452

Since both reviewed sources report the same value, the citation of the LC50 is considered reliable. Based on the experimental details provided, the result is considered to be reliable.
