Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Supply fresh air. Consult doctor in case of symptons.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Instantly wash with soap and water and rinse thoroughly. If
irritation develops seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, mist, foam, carbon dioxide or other drying agents may
be used.
Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon or nitrogen may be contained in products of
combustion.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: If dusty conditions occur, remove personnel from the
affected area. Wear suitable protective equipment (cf.
2.3.1).
Sweep up or vacuum spill and transfer to suitably labelled
containers and dispose of by incineration or at a suitable
landfill site. Do not discharge to waste water system.
Handling and storage
Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation with local exhaust ventilation
DBMAP-Ketoacid is used. Protective rubber gloves, apron or
overalls and safety glasses should be worn. An approved dust
respirator may also be required where dusty conditions
occur. An eyewash station and washing facility should be
available.
Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in a well ventilated, dry
place at room temperature.
Keep away from sources of ignition.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery (eg via vacuum) for recycling is possible if no
contamination of the substance has occurred.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance can be disposed of at a suitable site.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a
suitable facility. Waste gas treatment to remove nitrogen
oxides should be fitted.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from paper is not feasible.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Paper containing the substance can be disposed of as normal
domestic waste.
