NC-4 was found to hydolyse in acidic conditions (pH 4), but was stable (did not hydrolyse) under neutral or basic conditions (pH 7 and pH 9).

NC-4 was found not to be readily biodegradable, as in a CO2 Evolution test (OECD Guideline 301B) it was found to have degraded by 6 - 17% over 28 days.

The soil adsorption coeficient was determined by the HPLC method (OECD Guideline 121, EC GuidelineC19); the calculated log Koc = 2.9 (corresponding Koc = 890).
