Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
inherently biodegradable
Conclusions:
The substance was not readily biodegradable under the conditions of the modified Sturm test presently performed.
Executive summary:

The study procedures describes in this report were based on the OECD Guideline 301B. The study consisted of six bottles, 2 inoculum, 2 test bottles, 1 positive control and 1 toxicity control.Since the substance was not sufficiently soluble to allow preparation of an aqueous solution at a concentration of 1 g/L, weighed amounts were added to the 2 -litres test bottles containing medium with microbial organisms and mineral components. The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements performed during the test period revealed 7 and 12% biodegradation of the substance, for the duplicate bottles tested. The substance is designated as not readily biodegradable.
