A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. HSDB, GESTIS database, SRC Physcical Properties Database and THE HYDROPHOBIC FRAGMENTAL CONSTANT by Roelof F. Rekker reports that propionic acid has a partition coefficient from 0.25 to 0.33 at 25 °C.
The value from HSDB which is a peer reviewed database was chosen as key parameter for the partition coefficient.
