Conclusion on classification

Based on the results of the acute toxicity tests to aquatic freshwater organisms (most sensitive species Selenastrum capricornutum with a 96-h LC50 of 0.35 mg/L) and marine organisms (most sensitive species Holmesimysis costata with a 7-d LC50 of 145 µg/L) and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP (GHS), sodium azide is classified as Aquatic Acute 1 (H400) and Aquatic Chronic 1 (H410).
