Description of key information

The boiling range of Normal-Heptane is 93 to 100 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The distillation range is measured at atmospheric pressure using ASTM D 1078 methods. A range of 93 to 100 °C covers all possible grades within this substance description if measured with the agreed method. Tests conducted demonstrate that measured values fall within these borderline values. In a study by DHC (2010) the distillation range was determined to be between 98.2 – 98.4 °C. This is supported by a study by Halterman Products (2010) with a range of 98.1 – 98.3 °C.
