Description of key information

Depending on the season, the quinoline half-lives in environmental conditions will vary between 23 days (in summer) and 160 days (in winter). The value of 50 days was used for the risk assessment because more than half of the year (7 months) shows a DT50 less than or equal to 50 days.

Additional information

No standard study was identified however, the study performed by Smith et al (1978) is the most comprehensive one. Laboratory and outdoor experiments were performed for direct and indirect photolysis. Extrapolation for the environmental conditions was also included, and DT50 were calculated for each month of the year.
