Additional information

PNECaqua (freshwater), PNECaqua (marine water) were derived based on the NOEC of 36 µg/L from de Roode & de Haan (2004). The PNECaqua (intermittent release) has been determined based on the EC50 of 39 µg/L from Bouwman (2010b). The standard assessment factors given in the European Chemicals Agency guidance document (R.10: Characterisation of dose [concentration]-response for environment) have been used to predict the PNEC values.


 


PNECstp has been derived based upon the Baumann, 1992, study which provided a EC50 result of >100 mg/l. As it is not possible to derive a PNEC value from a greater than value, expert judgement has been applied and an EC50 value of 100mg/l is therefore considered the worst case for toxicity to microorganisms. The standard assessment factors given in the European Chemicals Agency guidance document (R.10: Characterisation of dose [concentration]-response for environment) have been used to predict the PNEC values.


 


PNECsediment and PNECsoil values cannot be derived at the current time due to a lack of physical chemical information (Koc, solubility and vapour pressure).


 


PNEC oral is not derived as the substance has been demonstrated to be non bioaccumulative.
