Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice:
Immediate medical attention required. Immediately remove contaminated clothing.
If danger of loss of consciousness, place patient in recovery position and
transport accordingly. Apply artificial respiration if necessary. First aid
personnel should pay attention to their own safety.
If inhaled:
Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.
On skin contact:
Immediately wash thoroughly with plenty of water, apply sterile dressings,
consult a skin specialist.
On contact with eyes:
Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with
eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.
On ingestion:
Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, induce vomiting, seek
medical attention.
Note to physician:
Treatment: Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no
known specific antidote, administer corticosteroid dose aerosol to prevent
pulmonary odema.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
water spray, alcohol-resistant foam
Unsuitable extinguishing media for safety reasons:
carbon dioxide
Specific hazards:
toxic gases/vapours, nitrous gases
Vapours may form explosive mixture with air.
Special protective equipment:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.
Further information:
Dispose of fire debris and contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with
official regulations. Containers/tanks should be cooled with water spray.
Vapours are heavier than air and may accumulate in low areas and travel a
considerable distance up to the source of ignition.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
Breathing protection required. Use personal protective clothing. Sources of
ignition should be kept well clear.
Environmental precautions:
Do not discharge into the subsoil/soil. Do not discharge into drains/surface
waters/groundwater.
Methods for cleaning up or taking up:
Pick up with suitable absorbent material. Dispose of absorbed material in
accordance with regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling
Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas. Use antistatic tools. The
substance/ product may be handled only by appropriately trained personnel.
Protection against fire and explosion:
Vapours may form explosive mixture with air. Take precautionary measures against
static discharges.
Storage
Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed and in
a cool place. The entrance to storage rooms is to be granted only to
appropriately trained personnel.

Risk of spontaneous and violent self-polymerization if product is exposed to excessive heat.
